Getting Started with Rails provides an in-depth guide to Ruby On Rails.
A solid guide to walk you through the learning process, with examples and explanations laid out in a narrative format.
The PDF gets updated at every update to the book's source, so it's as up to date as possible.
HTML version coming soon!
Grab the book's source and get to work! To get it, use the command below to
check it out of the Subversion repository
svn co svn://writtenpath.com/railsdocumentation.org railsbook
You can then edit the source and submit patches to the project tracker.
Go to our project tracker on Lighthouse to see what's being worked on, file tickets, and
help improve the text.
Help edit the current version and file tickets. Something not clear? File a ticket on the project tracker, please. An example seemingly inaccurate? Please do investigate. Helping to edit the text will make sure the book is an accurate and efficient volume for people to use. The more eyes that look at it, the more problems we can catch. Visit the project tracker here to file tickets or view others' tickets.
Secondly, you can grab the source and get to work! Snag the Markdown source from Subversion (see the instructions above), read the instructions, create a patch, and file it on the project tracker. We'll look it over, and if everything looks good, then we'll commit it to the repository, adding your name to the list of contributors.
